Today, you’ll explore Cardiff, the capital of Wales and its largest city. This bustling city hosts many events and attractions throughout the year. You’ll enjoy a short walking tour of this enchanting city before heading to its main attraction — Cardiff Castle. This Victorian-Gothic castle is a fantasy come to life. Located on beautiful parklands at the heart of the city, this magical 2,000-year-old castle was once a Roman fort and a Norman stronghold. In the 19th century the castle was redesigned by artist and architect William Burges at the direction of John Crichton-Stuart, 3rd Marquess of Bute. Originally settled by Vikings in the mid-9th century and developed as a whaling town in the 17th century, Milford Haven’s history is firmly linked to the sea. Today, cafés, boutiques, and other fun establishments line what was once a commercial quayside.  You’ll enjoy a walking tour of this quaint historic village before heading to nearby St. David’s Cathedral, situated in the tiny cathedral town of the same name. Founded in the 6th century by St. David, the patron saint of Wales, this is the final resting place of Edmund Tudor, the 1st Earl of Richmond and father of King Henry VII. Following breakfast on board, you’ll venture to the southeastern coast of Ireland to explore County Wicklow. Here you will visit the spectacular 47-acre gardens of Powerscourt, laid out over a period of 150 years. Set against the backdrop of Sugarloaf Mountain, there are many hidden treasures to discover from the ornate Italian Gardens to the formal walks of the Rose and Kitchen Gardens. Next you’ll visit Glendalough, one of Ireland’s oldest Monastic complexes, founded by St. Kevin in the early 7th century. Set in a glacial valley between two idyllic lakes, the monastery’s most prominent feature is the iconic High Tower where monks stored precious manuscripts and artifacts. A day of discovery in Dublin

Today, you’ll set out for a special day discovering Dublin’s main sights, including prestigious Trinity College. This is where you’ll find Ireland’s most precious medieval artifact, the Book of Kells. This illuminated manuscript of the four gospels dates back to approximately AD 800. The college also houses the 1916 Proclamation of the Irish Republic, also known as the Easter Proclamation; and the Brian Boru harp, Ireland’s national symbol featured on the Guinness label. Next, you’ll marvel at the lush greenery of the city’s beloved Phoenix Park.  These 1,750 acres of woodland, lakes, and historic buildings are home to Dublin’s own herd of wild fallow deer. Your tour will conclude at Dublin Castle, where you’ll have an opportunity to tour the inside. Constructed in the early 13th century on the site of a former Viking settlement, this castle served as the headquarters of English, and later British, administration in Ireland for many centuries. Get a taste of Irish whiskey in Dublin

Today, you’ll enjoy a very enticing, and quintessentially Irish, experience — an Irish whiskey tour. While the specific origins of whiskey are widely debated, it is believed that 11th-century Irish monks brought the technique of distilling perfumes back to Ireland following their travels to southern Europe. Around the 12th century, the Irish then modified this technique to obtain a drinkable spirit, making Irish whiskey one of the earliest distilled drinks in Europe. Dublin itself has a centuries-old history of whiskey production.
