This trip was unbelievable! Your staff was beyond excellent, they met all our needs. I cannot even think of anything to improve our trip. The only problem that we experienced was too much excellent and tasty food. We had to go on a crash diet when we returned home
The only constructive thought we could suggest, we went on the post extension trip. On the way to Bratislava the place where we were taught to make strudel needs to update their bathroom. Otherwise we had alot of fun there. The hotel that we stayed in Bratislava was amazing,loved the city. The tour guide in Prague really knew his business. We could go on and on raving about our trip.

Our first journey with Vantage also our first river cruise. Booked Vantage on the recommendation of a friend. Thank you friend, everything was fantastic, from beginning to end. We loved it so much that we booked another trip on board. We have been sharing our pictures with friends on Facebook. Already looking at places for our third journey. Talking with friends that have been on other lines we would rate Vantage at the top for river cruises. Outstanding day trips to many places the others don't go. Vantage knows how to make you feel like a VIP.

This was undoubtedly the best vacation we have ever had! Everything was top notch from the captains down to the room steward. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Renata was a gem. She was so kind and caring to each passenger. She and Maya made a great team!
The food was very good and the waiters were so pleasant and quick to meet our needs.
We loved the tours although we could have used more time in Nuremberg at the documentation center. So much to see! We hope to travel with Vantage again one day.

This was our first river cruise. Overall, we had a very positive experience. Would definitely do it again. The entire staff (including the Dutch pilot on the Rhine part) was informative, attentive, polite, and excellent in all respects. The only negative part was our Vantage airline arrangement with Lufthansa for the 11 hour trip home. We were a family of three; could not sit together; had to sit in three separate seats in different parts of the plane. What sold us on Vantage was the fact that we could rent a Deluxe Suite on the ship, put a rollaway bed in the room, and have all three of us in the same room. Definitely a plus for Vantage.

We enjoyed ourselves very much. The scenery was fantastic and the ship's crew were excellent. The ship exchange was well done without much ado. Sorry we had to leave our first ship. The tours were very good but the guides have a problem of walking too fast. They feel they must get everything in when they can. Please slow up. Our cruise director was tops. Our extended tour to Prague was excellent, we had a good time so nice and the hotels were very good and modern. Met great people along the way.

We went on the Majestic Rivers Cruise in November of 2018. A week before the cruise a representative of Vantage called me and let me know that due to the river level being low that the first four days we would be in hotels and on a motor coach until we could meet the rivership. This was known before we even left, so I was a little disturbed at the attitudes of some of the other passengers griping and complaining about that which was already disclosed to them.
Vantage put us up in 5 star hotels and everything that we would have done in the cities (if we had been staying on the ship and docked) we still did. We didn’t miss out on anything. After getting to the ship, everything was pretty much on schedule. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. I can’t say enough good things about the cruise. I have sailed 3 times now with vantage and will continue to do so as the offer the best customer service I could ever expect.

Very enjoyable and interesting tours. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly , accommodating our every need before we requested something. We appreciated all they did to make our first river cruise a memorable experience. Renata did a fabulous job, as unique situations required her attention. She made everyone feel special. The food servers were amazing and our room was always immaculate. Thank you!!

Due to Jim’s back problem be were sadly unable to complete our Majestic River trip but we want to give both Martina and Renata the highest marks for their attention during a difficult time.
Martina was an excellent guide and such a big help with our transition to Budapest and wheelchair assistance.
Renata took over in Budapest and was tremendously kind and helpful in making our return home arrangements. Plus she called us after arriving home to see how we were doing.

I was traveling with my 82 year old mother and this was the perfect way to go. We did not have to pack and unpack saving my back, the excursions gave us time together and once we were back on the boat she could do an art class, cooking class, or just relax and I knew she was safe and comfortable while I ventured out on a bike or on foot for more emersion. So much better than sitting in a hotel room.


I am headed out on my second trip to the Amazon with Vantage and can't wait!

This was my first River Cruise and I went with my mom. She loved it and I enjoyed the boat, the staff, the sights, and the bikes!

the trips were informative and allowed me to explore more when they ended back at the boat. I do wish they had spent more time in Austria and Hungary. They far overshadowed Germany in my mind.

And they need to watch dietary needs more closely. They ask before the cruise, you tell them, and you have to do all the work to make sure they are met.

All in all, great experience.

I went on this trip with my son, he is in his 20's, my husband was not able to go along. We had a marvelous time on this cruise, though we have been to many of the places that this cruise travels, Vantage still showed us some new areas and had some great tour guides. We did like that we had free time to explore on our own. Fish is not their cooking forte, but most of the other offerings were great. The employees were so kind to us. Only complaint we had is the workout room. The staff took the heavier free weights out of the room. My son would have liked to use them more often, they would disappear for days and then show up again. Several other people commented on this also. We had a great time and I would definitely recommend it to others. We found it to be a great value for the money. We are already booked on another Vantage Cruise to Myanmar.

My son and I went on this trip in May, the water levels were perfect. What a great adventure we had. The excursions were very well planned out, there was plenty of free time in most cities to explore on your own. Most of the meals were really good. Nice selection of wine for dinner, don't just take the one type they offer, there are several to select from. I would definitely suggest this cruise, it goes through such a beautiful area of Europe.

Comfortable room, good food, and events well planned. Two minor suggestions: arrival at terminal meeting with escort was not clear and had to ask around to find our escort then had to wait before getting bus and at the end of the trip our credit card denied the charges and said the reason was card not swiped.

I really enjoyed cruising with Vantage Deluxe Travel. Specifically, I do like to sail again with vessel's Crew Director Martin Kratkoczky. He is absolutely knowledgable and highly responsible to his passengers when we go ashore or on ship.

Food and other services, especially room stewards! They are on their hands and knees to be sure your quarters are cleaned.

Improvements: We need
1. Better coffee being served in dining salon though.
2. Better sound system for the music.
3. Wifi / Wifi extensions: Signals are not as strong even vessel is in port. It took me more than an hour to check-in and changed airplane seats. I used my 2015, i7, MacBook!

I just returned from this trip and it was fabulous. The itinery kept us busy but not overwhelmed. The selection of excursions was excellent and the local guides knowledgeable and professional. The staff on ship provided outstanding service and the food.... WoW! Amazing variety and not one thing that was not skillfully prepared. I never had such good soups! Then there was the wine with dinner, special events in the lounge - all excellent. The cruise director took such good care of us all along with the concierge and hotel and restaurant managers. This was my first cruise of any kind, let alone river cruise. I am afraid i am spoiled for all other kinds of travel. I would love to travel again with Vantage. A great value and an outstanding experience. Special kudos to Martin, cruise director and dining room staff Jero and Jerry.

Great trip! The River Voyager is a wonderful ship with exceptional staff and crew. The food was gourmet. The excursions were interesting, informative, with enough free time to enjoy each destination. The tour director, Bogdan Curea and concierge, Svetlyo Stoyanov were always ready to help.

This was a very enjoyable trip. It was the third time we have taken this cruise and each time we had a good time. The people we meet on these trips are what make them the best. The crew working in the Captain's Club were the best and a joy to travel with. We will be on another Vantage cruise in the future.

We enjoyed the trip very much. Had a great time talking with the captain about our trip on the Moselle. He is a very competent and charming man. We loved Martin and Maya and thought they did a wonderful job. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a good trip. I think they must be exhausted after working so hard to see that we all had a good time and were able to do all the things we wanted to do. This was my first River Boat Tour and as a single person the guides, staff and of course Cruise Directors Martin and Maya made it all a safe and entertaining adventure. Alone, I would never have been able to procure the tickets/passes and transportation to the sights and the different city tours. It will take me sometime to place names and places to all of my photos..... the tour groups saw so much and experienced so much. For instance, each port/country had such different cultures even though they were in such close proximity.
Last but not least was the wonderful varied cuisine on the boat,.... the waitstaff and chefs were excellent. A great memorable experience!

Excellent trip, our first river cruise. The only reason I did not rate it a five was that in a couple of port, the ship was not tied up in a convenient place. Viking tends to get the best slots due to its size. A minor inconvenience though. The ship, the service, the food, the included activities in each city where we stopped was very well done. The Budapest land tour could have been a bit better though with a bit too much time on the bus for me. Again, this did not diminish the quality of our river cruise. I would use Vantage again and probably will.

Excellent value for a memorable river cruise. There was so much to experience throughout all of the interesting ports in these beautiful countries. The time spent on the ship was enjoyable including the wonderful food with fantastic and friendly service in the dining room and the comfortable rooms with full windows to view the beautiful scenery while traveling. The Chef Andreas was excellent and our food and wine servers Jaroslaw and Michel were perfect....friendly, efficient and sincere.

Wonderful trip . The ship was first rate. The crew and wait staff in the dining room were excellent. I don’t know if I would give our tour director an excellent rating but as the trip continue he did become helpful and more engaging with the passengers. Excellent itenarary, well paced tours and very interesting sites. This was the second Vantage trip and wasn’t disappointed. Will have another upcoming River Trip with Vantage next fall (2018).

This trip has been on my bucket list for years. I have been waiting for the right time. I cannot tell you how happy I am that I chose Vantage! I cannot imagine anyone else meeting and exceeding my dreams the way that you have. Your personnel could not be more professional and warm and welcoming. The food is wonderful and I loved having regional cuisine. The tours were well-planned and executed. The time onboard was fun and relaxing, giving us plenty of time to meet new people and learn so much. Everything was perfect! It is the best vacation I can imagine.

I thoroughly enjoyed this trip. The tour guides in each city were very informative. The staff were always most helpful. I liked the seating of 4 to 6 chairs at most tables in the lounges and dining rooms which encouraged meeting new people at each meal. The meals were excellent and the many choices of food were special.

The staff was outstanding. By the second day most knew a majority of the names. Our cruise director was great (Bogden). He was always around when we were out on tours. I was disappointed in the house beer. I thought we would have more choices. The wine was excellent. 5 choices (2 white, 2 red, 1 rose) at dinner. Several dinner choices. Always steak, chicken, or salmon plus a rotating meat, fish, and vegetable choice. Lunch was the bigger meal. No complimentary beer and wine at lunch. Everything was very well done. I will travel with Vantage again. There is about a week where we couldn't use the top deck because of low bridges. That is a product of the river, not the cruise company.

The trip was OUTSTANDING! This was our 1st vacation in years and didn't know if it would be stuffy and fuddy-duffy but we had a wonderful time. The staff weren't nice - they truly were pleased that we were having such a wonderful time. The food was delicious & so tastefully done. Also plenty of alternates if you prefer. We met so many wonderful friends on the trip. Mornings were usually walking tours & afternoons free for shopping. On-board lectures brought a lot of where we were into perspective. We're now looking for our next one. Friends that we met on the boat had been with other companies before but felt that Vantage had the best offerings & price.

This was our first River Cruise and it will not be our last! What a magical journey which was informative ,relaxing and totally unforgettable in every way. It was well organized with interesting sightseeing,a great cruise director and staff,and a most pleasant journey through a beautiful part of Europe. All of the guides were most knowledgeable and professional. The food on board was five star and the wait staff most helpful and accommodating. During this trip you had the complete confidence in the River Navigator staff which made this journey so special. They handled all the guests with great respect with their expertise. Unfortunate disruption of the trip due to low river level and grounded barge in the canal. Vantage did a good job of saving the trip by transporting us by motor coach and taking us to destination cities and venues daily by coach. This also kept our Amsterdam extension alive so that we could see that wonderful city. All in all, well handled.

Trip was truly majestic! Visiting cathedrals, castles, vineyards, plus enjoying concerts, cultural immersions, lectures, fine dining - all proved to be an unforgettable experience. The cruise director was excellent as was the post-tour director. Bratislava and Prague were special additions. And, I'll always remember gliding through the "lights of Budapest" with champagne in hand. Attention to details and safety was remarkable.

Don’t Judge a Book By Its Cover Applies Here

My first impression of the River Splendor was not favorable. Knowing it was one of the newest ships, it certainly did not look like a new ship to me. My fears and disappointment were quickly squelched upon embarking the ship. The “splendor” of the ship became quickly evident. Crew members welcomed us aboard with a smile and willingness to answer any questions. Tea sandwiches and drinks were a welcomed treat. As we were one of the first group of travelers to arrive, we took the time to explore and familiarize ourselves with the ship. Embarkation went very smoothly.

Overall, the interior of the ship was clean, staircases wide, and cabins adequate in size. The interior of the ship has a contemporary look. Wi-Fi is available throughout the ship at no additional cost.

Dining

There is only one main dining area, the Compass Rose. Seating is on a “first come” basis. You may choose to sit wherever you like, with the permission of those already there. Several large groups (15 in one) chose to sit together. Breakfast and lunch are buffet style dining. It is possible to get your choice of omelet or fried eggs. Selections included bacon, sausages, potatoes, fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries, breads, a variety of muffins, cold cereal, oatmeal, muesli, and cold cuts. Lunch included a salad bar, pasta (different every day), tea sandwiches,

Dinner included an appetizer, soup, choice from two entrees and two desserts. There is also an always available menu which included salmon, chicken or steak. In addition, those watching their weight could select from a separate menu. Red and white wine was available at dinner and was as much as you like. Once dessert was served, you could not have any more wine. Another option was to eat at the Captain’s restaurant located at the back of the ship. Indoor and outdoor seating was available. This is a “serve yourself” set up and a small scale of items were available. There was a salad bar with limited items, limited desserts, and the food was grilled out on the deck. Sausages, chicken, steak, ribs and other traditional grilling foods were available and the selection varied from day to day. Lunch and dinner were served here. We did not like this option because we enjoyed being waited on and the other choices available in the main dining area.

Cabins

We were in Cabin 303, on the same deck as the dining room. The cabin measure 165 square feet and was adequate for our needs. Suitcases can easily be stored under the bed. The beds can be set up as one queen or two twin configuration. Flat screen TVs are in every cabin. A nice touch was to have a “Welcome” screen with our names when we arrived. Bottled water is provided free of charge. Outlets are European style but there is at least one outlet with a U.S. plug. The closet was divided into two sections and each had wooden hangers. There were enough drawers in the dresser for our 2-week supply of clothing. There were two types of suites on the 4th deck. Some had a larger sitting area while others had a second room. The suites had names of explorers including Columbus, Marco Polo, Stuyvesant, Vespucci, Hudson, Drake, DaGama, etc. The larger suites have mini-bars and in-room refrigerators. The owners suite was quite large (330 square feet) and had a separate desk area, two flat screen TVs, sitting area, and an in-room coffee maker. It also has a Jacuzzi tub and is located on the Navigator deck. The owner’s suite is named Liza Minelli.

The bathrooms have separate glass enclosed showers. A plus is the built-in clothesline in the shower stall. The showers were spacious and allowed you to turn around without hitting the walls of the stall. Water pressure could be adjusted to your liking. Toiletries are from L’Occitane. A make-up mirror, hair dryer, and plug for a razor are included.

Dress Code

The dress code is casual. No shorts or jeans are allowed in the dining room for dinner. The majority of the travelers dressed up a bit more for the Captain’s hello and farewell dinners. Women wore dresses, dressy pant suits and skirts with pretty tops and most men wore a jacket with or without a tie.

Fellow Passengers

The average age of travelers was in the 60-plus age group. Most were not new to cruising and many were on their second, third or fourth Vantage cruise. This is a testament to the overall great service, itinerary and attention to detail. Open seating and included excursions made it easier to create new friendships.

Gratuities

The only gratuity automatically charged to your account is the $5.00 per day, per person for the Cruise Director and Concierge. You can choose to lower or increase this amount. You cannot give more to the Cruise Director, unless it is in a separate envelope. Gratuities are pooled for the crew and Vantage recommends giving 9 to 11 dollars per person, per day for them. Also, tips are not automatically added to bar drinks.

Public Rooms
Entrance to the ship is on the two-deck atrium located on the Explorer deck. There is a front desk that is open 24 hours and is where passengers check in and out of the ship. This is where currency can be exchanged, bills paid, questions answered, and boarding passes picked up as needed.

Near the front desk is the hospitality desk where passengers can request assistance from the concierge for bookings for shore excursions and other amenities in port. The Cruise Director is also available to answer questions or assist in any manner. The ice machine is located behind the hospitality desk as is a small ship’s store where you can purchase jewelry, souvenirs, postcards, t-shirts and hats. An elevator is available (located near the hospitality desk) for this who choose to use it when going to the Solaris Deck on the top level.

A small library and the Latitude Lounge are also located on the Navigator Deck. Several groups used this area to play cards. The Latitude Lounge is where the cultural connections, port talks and entertainment was held. Our Cruise Director Vicki provided a daily briefing where she shared the itinerary of the following day complete with maps and questions. There is also a full-service bar. Coffee, tea and water is available on a 24-hour basis. Passengers took advantage of the Lounge offered during the day to read a book, use their computers, play cards or simply talk in small groups. Happy hour was offered every evening prior to the port talk and dinner.

The Captains Club may be a misnomer since it is available to anyone. It is located at the aft of the ship on the Navigator Deck. The area has indoor seating for lunch and dinner as well as outside seating for those who choose this option. This is the area where food is grilled for those choosing to dine in this area.

Although we did not use it because we brought our own electronics, there is a computer room with two PCs, two Macs and a printer. Vantage also makes available iPads for check-out and use on the ship. 

The Solaris Deck is the top deck and is where you want to be when sailing the beautiful Wachau Valley. The deck has a small walking track (you can also walk around the entire deck), and a chess board. There are covered and uncovered seating available.

There is a small fitness room with a treadmill, stationary bicycle and weights. There is no nail or hair salons on board. I believe massage services were offered at additional cost.

Activities
The River Splendor provides a daily city tour or excursion. People are assigned to specific color groups and board the bus bearing the same color sign. Groups are about 30-35 passengers. Local guides are on each of the buses. The enjoyment level of the tour or excursion is dependent on the local guide. All guides have a good command of the English language and most are very knowledgeable about their local area. For the most part, we had good guides but others came back with stories of things they had seen that was not part of our tour. Personal headsets are provided for use throughout the cruise. These allow you to hear the guide wherever you are in the group. Most of the afternoons afforded us free time to either go back and see some of the sights on the tour or simply to do “your own thing”. In my opinion, the best guides were those who were able to inject some humor in their talks and also share some of their personal stories. A separate group for “slow walkers” who wanted to tour at a slower pace.

Vantage offers optional excursions for an additional talk. Some of these were quite pricey. We did not take advantage of any of these. Passengers who took advantage of this option came back with reviews that went from great to a waste of money. We did book a separate excursion with another company and paid one-third the cost of the Vantage excursion.

Vantage is noted for its lectures and programs called Cultural Connections. Here we received port talks from the Cruise Director, watched local talent perform, and talks about the lock system. Our Cruise Director Vicki provided a daily briefing where she shared the itinerary of the following day complete with maps and questions. There was a glass blowing and strudel demonstration on board. We learned our ship would go through 66 locks, the tallest being 88 feet. It was amazing to watch the captain maneuver the ship through some locks with only 5 inches of clearance on either side.

The crew provided entertainment one evening and there were two evenings of dancing including line dancing, the chicken dance, etc. The dances were hosted by the Cruise Director and Concierge.

Unforeseen Problem
The Captain spoke to all passengers on how he was asking everyone to disembark and travel by bussed to our next port Passau. The reason being the area the ship had to travel through had low water and many rocks to maneuver around. Twelve passengers chose not to leave the ship. Once in Passau, had our port tour and then had free time to do as we chose. Our Cruise Director was in constant contact with the Captain as to his progress. When we learned the ship would be later than planned and it was pouring down rain, Vantage took all of us to a local hotel and provided free drinks (open bar) and appetizers until our ship docked. Another example of how well Vantage takes care of its passengers.

This was an unforgettable river cruise. The whole crew were kind, helpful, neat, polite, etc. The captain was cool and very professional getting our boat through a tight strait when the river was too low, while Viking couldn't make it !!!!! Of course the legendary rivers and their cities gave us extremely beautiful things to see and wherever I pointed my camera there was beauty. Thank you Vantage !!!!

What an amazing trip!! We saw amazing scenery and visited some of the most interesting places. But best of all was the crew on the Splendor. They made the trip the best.

We would NOT be able to recommend this cruise. There should be fewer ports of call with more time to spend in those towns. We did not have access to the Solaris Deck for half of the cruise because it was closed. Many passengers became ill with respiratory problems. A few were even hospitalized with pneumonia. It seems Vantage did not have a good response for this problem.

A great trip on historic waterways

I thought I knew German history but learned much about its Roman roots on this trip as well as discovering the wonders of Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic. Every serious traveler should experience the charms of this medieval gem. The German barbecue was worth taking the trip by itself. My personal high point was traveling the Rhine, Main Danube Canal, dreamed of for centuries but only a few years old. All in all a really pleasant experience.

This was our first river cruise. Vantage did a fantastic job of holding our hand from start to finish. We loved this fantastic trip. It was without a doubt the best we have ever been on. The history and culture woven into the trip was obviously thought out by the agents at Vantage. We have never been in Europe and after visiting so many cities we had to come back,sort out our pictures so we could figure out where we had been. The walking tours in every city plus the meals in different cities gave us a remarkable feeling for the way Europe is now not the way we had pictured it. The river Splendor was fantastic ship. Quiet and serene in its cruising on the Rhine, Mein, and Danube as we passed the castles and fit into the locks. What an experience. The food and entertainment provided were excellent. I cannot think of anything that was not pre-arranged by Vantage and carried out by the cruise director. We were so excited that we have already booked our next trip which is Treasures of France: A Grand River Journey from Normandy to Provence which we are taking from Marseilles to Paris because the other way was sold out. Anyone traveling the river for the first time will be amazed.

A marvelous trip. A river cruise is a great way to travel. You unpack once and see multiple towns and cities as the boat goes from one to another. The food was delicious and the accommodations were comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and customer oriented. I would and am doing it again next year.

The best tour experiences we have ever had. The tour director was a young lady name Veronika, who was very exceptional. Food was very good, service was excellent, wines were good and reasonably priced. We did the extra trip to Prague and Brataslava.

We truly enjoyed the "Magical Mystery Cruise" that was supposed to be the Majestic Rivers of Europe Cruise in July 2013. Vantage contacted us four days before we were scheduled to leave to explain the tour had been changed because of the severe flooding. Instead of the Majestic Rivers of Europe Cruise we were going to do a hybrid of that and the Black Sea Cruise. Since the main areas we wanted to see were Budapest and Vienna were still included we did not mind. The cruise was fantastic and we were impressed that Vantage could put it together with such short notice. With only 79 passengers vs. a max of 176 we got special attention. Our trip got of to a great start with the Amsterdam pre-trip. We were quick to notice that of the 14 people on the pre-trip we were the only ones traveling with Vantage the first time. In fact I estimate that 75-80% of the passengers on the cruise had previously traveled with Vantage. We were upgraded to the top deck, although I don't think there was a great deal of difference between the top two decks. At 165 sf our rooms were spacious enough not to feel cramped. I especially appreciated the large shower since I am 6'5". We cannot praise Vantage enough. The crew was top notch and the service impeccable. The food was very good and more than a month after the trip we are still full. The tour guides and Program Managers were knowledgeable and informative. We really enjoyed some of the smaller cities we visited to and from the Iron Gates. We are already discussing when our next trip will be.

Seeing the beautiful castles was nostalgic but walking into the cities along the Rhine and Danube was a treat to be remembered. These tours provided an experience that will live in our minds forever. Especially, did we enjoy the concert in Vienna and seeing this old city was a real delight.

Our cruise was outstanding. From the greeting by our program director at the Amsterdam airport to our departure at Budapest everything was just great. We so enjoyed the accommodations aboard the RIVER DISCOVERY II. The food in the dining room was scrumptious everything from the personally prepared omelet in the morning to the delicious entrees and deserts at the evening meal. The individual service provided by the wait staff in the dining area was just great. The tours in the various Ports of Call were far and above what we expected. The tour guides provided a wealth of knowledge about each attraction we visited. We so enjoyed the various tours arranged by Vantage. They were just great. There were too many favorites to list them all. But among the most impressive was the Cathedral in Cologne, the Castles in Austria and of course the classical concert in Vienna. We would and have recommended Vantage to friends and acquaintances who want to take a luxurious cruise Europe.

We absolutely loved our first ever river cruise! The ship, the staff, the tours, the tour guides, the food, onboard entertainment, port talks, and the fellow passengers were all delightful. We loved that almost everything was included so no need to worry about extra expenses of tours, etc. We hope we can go on another river cruise again. We are still in touch with new friends we made on this trip and we talk about meeting up again for another adventure.

When my roommate got sick and could not go I went alone and made friends along the way. This is one of the best trips I have taken for wonderful accomedations, good food, new friends good guides and an excellent voyage.

My wife and I have taken about 35 cruises (mostly ocean cruises) over the past 22 years. This cruise, by far, was the best cruise we have ever taken. The itinerary was wonderful, the dining was supurb and the cruise employees could not have been nicer. I found the cost of the trip to be very, very fair (much less than the competition.} My wife sadly passed away about 6 months after the trip and I thank God that we took the trip when we did. I tell all my friends and family not to miss out on a Vantage River Cruise. It was simply wonderful.

The Vantage cruise in 2012 was our third on European rivers, which should speak for itself. Vantage is an excellent host, its itinerary is outstanding and the total experience is rewarding.It generated more memories than we can mention here. Not sure when, but we'll be back with Vantage again. Soon, we hope.

This was our first River Cruise & we chose Vantage because it appeared to offer more then the other lines. We could not have had a more enjoyable three weeks. We chose the pre-trip to Prague where we met 22 of the most precious fellow passengers. Highly recommend the pre trip...you really bond with the group. Getting to know them through out the trip made it more enjoyable. Our Tour Manager, Claus was the best of the best. The airlines lost my luggage & he was right there to get it to the hotel @ 1:30 AM on our 1st night in Prague. He also was so informative & we definitely learned a lot about each country we visited.Hope you are fortunate to have him with you...He is a "gem". The staff & the crew were wonderful & took care of any problem that arose (there not very many). We enjoyed all the ports, tours, lunches @ different restaurants, visit with a family for dessert in one of the towns. We are still in touch with "our group" via e-mail... We are planning another cruise with Vantage in 2014 & will not even inquire @ another company. Vanatasge is the best as far as we are concerned. Try them & you will love your trip.

Absolutely Remarkable! Scenery, cruising, comfort, friends, staff all contributed to a memorable time in history of the area. I enjoyed meeting new friends and traveling with them to create ongoing friendships and continued correspondence. Still consider this one of my favorites with Vantage.

This riverboat cruise exceeded our expectations. The entire trip was perfect. The riverboat, program managers,crew, meals, excursions and pre and post extensions were all outstanding. Seeing the castles and countryside from a riverboat is fabulous. The entire cruise was relaxed and well paced. We highly recommend Vantage and this cruise.

Our first trip with Vantage was more than we expected!!! The weather, magnificent views and the wonderful experiences that we shared with other travelers was unbelievable. We learned so much from the lectures, our tour guides and enjoying the entertainment that was provided. To top is off, our meals were delightful. There was always something special each dinner. This was the best trip that we could have taken. Beautiful weather, sites, food, and everything. We had a great time. Having served in Germany back in the 60's, it was good to see some of the places that I saw when I was there. Much has changed and that is good. You need to that this trip if you have not been there. Vantage did a great job for all of us and we will trip with them again and also recommend Vantage to all our friends.

The cruise was above and beyond our wildest dreams. The experience on board the ship was very delightful as well as the onshore tours. The trip covered a part of the world that has so much history to it that without all of the knowledgeable people providing interesting commentary we would have missed very important historical stories. The staff was a real surprise by the way they served our every need with such a positive spirit. I couldn't believe how sharp Kitrina the hostess was in knowing everyones name after the first day. She made us all feel special. The stops were well chosen to give us a comprehensive understanding of the life along the river over the times. I must say our experience on Vantage was outstanding and I can't wait until our next trip with them. My only complaint is that I only managed to take 2,265 pictures.

Our venture on the riverboat from Budapest to Amsterdam was our first experience with riverboat travel. This one tour hooked us with the excitement of riverboat travel and then to top it of we had a tour director who could sing opera.The tour of Budapest clearly shows the move to restore the city to its former glory before communism. The tour of Passau just two weeks after a major flood on the Danube shows how they are so much better prepared than we are in the USA. It was business as usual in Passau even though the city hall had been flooded. The organ recital in St. Stephans Cathedral was outstanding. In Nuremberg we visited many of the famous sites from WW2. In Cologne to stand beside the great cathedral was inspiring. The Ludwig Museum displays the extent of Ancient Roman civilization in this area.

This was our first trip with Vantage and our first river cruise so it will always hold a special place in my heart. I felt like it was magical to just cruise along and see majestic castles, beautiful old villages and so many vineyards. But it was even more so as we stopped at the villages, took our tours and then explored on our own, eating at the wonderful cafes and shopping in the delightful little shops. Heidelberg, Rotenberg, Vienna, Budapest were all just names before this trip. Now when I hear those names my mind is just filled with so many wonderful memories, it still brings me so much joy.
