Can not give all excellent review because the ship was not as expected. We were expecting new ship.
The tours were very good, land accommodations excellent. Planning and logistics excellent.
Visit to a typical Egyptian home would have been nice. We have enjoyed that in other trips...

I was especially impressed with our travel guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about Egypt and he gave us that knowledge in an organized, very enthusiastic manner. He also went out of his way to make me comfortable when i experienced an intestinal upset.

Life changing trip! Can't say enough nice things about my Adventure Leader, Hazem Bazid. He was so knowledgeable and provided information in a conversational way. The entire trip was expertly run and managed - I didn't worry about anything. Our small group made visiting temples, museums and tombs comfortable and enjoyable.

We would have given the trip an excellent except for the M/S Mojito. The crew were excellent but the food was poor and the accommodations needed a rehab.
The tour director was excellent and made the history come alive.
We would recommend this trip with the notation that the ship did not live up to our expectations from a previous Vantage River cruise.

Fabulous adventure with outstanding knowledgable tour guides! Never felt that there were any security issues and the Egyptian people were very friendly and hospitable. My wife and I have travelled extensively and this was definately one of the top trips we have ever taken!

This was everything and more than I had hoped it would be. It’s hard to wrap your mind around Egypt’s history. Unbelievable! Our tour guide was outstanding!! However...... Be prepared! Almost everyone on the trip did get sick with intestinal issues. Our tour guide was very helpful and did provide us with Imodium type capsules which were helpful. I am currently on Azythromiacin which is working. Might be a good idea to take it with you! Good luck and enjoy the experience!!

This is a great trip - one of the best offered by Vantage. It hit all the highlights and was very comprehensive. The hotels in Cairo - Marriott and Renaissance - were 5 star. Egyptian Museum was more than expected, although very hot. The trip hit the highlights of Cairo and its environs. The pyramids and valley of the kings was spectacular. Be aware that it is quite hot and there is a lot of walking involved. Next phase of the trip was flying to Luxor and sailing the Nile to Aswan. The MS Mojito is not a new boat, but well appointed and very well maintained. The rooms were comfortable with adequate space for storage. Dining was all buffet except the last evening. The food was very good, but I would have preferred being served as I have experienced on other Vantage river cruises. Egypt is a unique country with a rich history and culture. Our trip leader, Hazem, was one of the most experienced and organized professionals. He was proud of his country, its history and culture and explained and shared them expertly and concisely. I can't say enough about him and his expertise. This is hands down a great trip and will be one of those remembered for a lifetime

Ramy Darwish was our Adventure Leader and you could not ask for a better person to show you all about Egypt -- both Ancient and current! He is knowledgeable, organized, personable, and caring. He is what set this trip apart for us! Fantastic job. The boat and dining experiences were OK. I am sure that there will be improvement when Vantage gets its own boat next year. I am urging all my friends to go and see Egypt. This was a trip of a lifetime.

A Trip Back in Time and the Sights of Today: The wonders of ancient Egypt and the sights of the people and places today was an experience of a lifetime. Our tour guide and travel host, Hazem Basid, was extremely knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful as we went from Cairo through to Alexandria. For us the highlights were visiting the Valley of the Kings, seeing the Mediterranean Sea and sampling local dishes, riding a camel around the Great Pyramids, immersing ourselves in the culture of the past, and meeting the friendly and welcoming people. An amazing and worthwhile trip!!!

We liked several of the included meals -- however, we did not like the included dinner in "New Cairo" -- it was too far away and the food was not great. We liked the Mojito. We loved the hotels == very good quality. Great meals at the hotels including the wonderful breakfasts. We really appreciated Mohammed's great leadership and help and knowledge. Mohammed and his team obtained "distilled water" for my husband's CPAP machine -- this was a great help to us and we appreciated their efforts to get the water. We appreciated the transportation team's smooth transfers from airport to hotel and so on. We loved the lunch in "New Giza" on our way home from Alexandria. Mohammed provided great tours of so many sites!!

This Adventure fulfilled a dream of mine since childhood. I have always been fascinated by Egypt and of course the pyramids, to finally see up close, touch and yes, smell the wonders of Egypt was remarkable and a memory I will never forget. Thank you!!

A wonde4ful excursion. Met all my expectations. Vantage had all the details down pat. All the accommodations, meals, tours,etc. we’re excellent. Our guide,Ramy Darwish, was the most knowledgeable and professional guide I have ever experienced. He knew everything,solved every problem, and never left us for sixteen days. I also felt very safe with having security with us at all times.Even the security personnel were helpful when a few of the less mobile passengers needed help.

Absolutely perfect. This was a trip of a lifetime. I felt safe and secure at all times. The Egyptian people were warm and welcoming. Ramy Darwish was knowledgeable and professional. The trip of wonder! How did they do that? This was to comment said over and over for 14 days. Everything we saw was amazing, the sites of Tombs, Pyramids, Temples but much more. After 14 days with our wonder tour guide Ramy Darwish. We learned about the culture, religion, history, food, thoughts, he taught us things that we did not have a clue about!
If you want to go to the land where it all started go. 100% of the time we were taken care of. Never was our safety in questioned. Vantage and the American agency s made sure we were well taken care off.
It is the most unusual trip, when you leave you felt like you went to a part of the world that for most people don't think about because they have a pyramid. All walks of life waving, smiling and welcoming you to their land

If you ever wonder if I should go or not go to the "Land of Wonder" Go Go Go! At all times I thought this is wonderful. My eyes were full with seeing remarkable things, such as Pyramids, Tombs, etc. But thinking back what comes to my mind is the people. Waving to us in the bus from people in other cars, children, even a man in a donkey cart along side the highway. It is NOT you usual trip of just seeing the sites, it is experiencing a completely different culture for most Americans. It just remarkable. With the world changing so much, this exploration of a land so rich with the old and new will not be forgotten by us. Our tour guide was so educated with facts of his country but his kindness and heart felt love he showed to us is what we were so impressed with.

Toured in February 2018. Mohammad Anwar was an energetic, fun, and extremely knowledgeable of Egyptian archaeology and history. His passion for the amazing antiquities we were seeing was infectious. Would recommend Mohammad and this trip if you want to be wowed! Mohammad was also our guide to Alexandria.

Our guide Mohamed Eissa (we fondly called him "Mo") set a new high standard for guides. Mo was the best guide any of us have ever had, and this was a well-traveled group. Mo was deeply intelligent and FULL of knowledge, flexible, fun-loving, sensitive - and a darn good sport. The fast pace and early morning tour times were planned to optimize our experience so that we weren't at any attractions with dozens of buses. He is intuitive, quick-thinking and absolutely adorable. He was attuned to all of our mannerisms, and treated us as privileged children - we teased him about that! The wonders of Egypt would stand on their own, but they were enhanced by the brilliance of our guide. Mo had connections that allowed us to experience things that other travelers, couldn't. He really made the trip for us, and we feel so fortunate to have experienced Egypt with one so wise. Would recommend him to anyone planning this excursion. we came away with a new friend. Go, Mo!

Aside from being and incredible tour guide and very knowledgeable Egyptologist, Hazem made a lasting impact on my life. This tour provided extensive education about Egypt but also affected me on a deeper spiritual and emotional level. I will never forget when he translated the Arabic word for 'relax' as 'to leave yourself'. It gave me a deeper meaning of the word and allowed me to 'leave' my anxious mind for the course of the vacation.

Hazem was very caring and attentive to all of his passengers. He always did his best to ensure that everyone was overly satisfied. He was extremely knowledgeable about Egypt's history as well as its contemporary culture. He always found the answers to questions he was unsure of. He went above and beyond as a guide, for this once and a lifetime vacation! Thank you Hazem and Vantage!!
