Enchanting Danube: Budapest to Regensburg - 2023

PACING:

• The pace of this itinerary is moderate
• You'll visit 6 ports of call in 9 days, spending 8 nights aboard the deluxe m/s River Splendor
• There will be plenty of time to enjoy the wonders of the Danube River, where you'll admire castle-crowned vistas, medieval townships, and the grand capital cities of Budapest, Bratislava and Vienna
• This itinerary features overnight and full-day stays in select ports, with the ship departing late in the evening

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• This itinerary offers a mix of panoramic (driving) sightseeing tours and walking tours
• You'll have chances to join included walking tours that go at an easier leisurely pace or some that go at a faster clip, depending upon your abilities and preferences. Either way, you won't miss any highlights
• In select locations, you'll have free time to walk on your own
• Please note: Vantage's owned fleet of river cruise ships have elevators, but tours are not intended for travelers using mobility aids like walkers and wheelchairs. There are steps onboard

TERRAIN & TRANSPORTATION:

• Castle and museum visits often require climbing flights of stairs
• Much of the walking on tours is over uneven terrain, cobblestone walkways, and flagstone paths. There also may be wintery weather conditions at times
• Motorcoaches are used whenever possible to bring you as close to the pedestrian centers as the historic preservation of these older towns and cities allow

CLIMATE:

• Expect chilly temperatures during November and December
• On average, you may find highs of 45 and lows of 30
• Rainfall averages about 8-10 days a month and, of course, it may snow
• Pack accordingly and bring gloves, hat, scarf, jackets, layers and more
